Former Viking LB Adam Hayward was drafted by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 182nd overall pick. Congrats to Adam on his accomplishment! Viking fans will be watching him next year!

PSFF has New Logo

The message board Portland State Fans Forum now has a new logo, the previous logo will be hung up in the portal as a tribute to Rick (Griz Grunt)

WiViking will represent PSU at BigSkyFans.com

In the future Chris the admin at eGriz will release a Big Skt Fan Site, the fan site will contain a blogger from each Big Sky School, representing PSU will be our very own WiViking. the site may take awhile to be released but it's getting there, yes there will be a message board. To get the feel of how good the site will be look at www.egriz.com . Chris is good at what he does. The site is still looking for bloggers from the following schools

NAU, UNC, EWU, CSUS, ISU

This has been a very exciting past week, the Vikings Basketball team has been notified that they will be adding some great athletes to their team in the 08-09 season

For one, the Viks land former McNary High School standout Phil Nelson, who is transfering from the Washington Huskies, Nelson will be eligible for the 08-09 season

Then Bone landed yet another transfer, Dominic Waters(pictured to the right) fromer Grant High School standout and WAC freshman of the year is also transfering, he is coming from the Univeristy of Hawaii

All I can say about it is, Big sky title in 08-09 here we come

Our hearts go out to the victims of the Virginia Tech tragedy. Everyone has their points in life that you get so mad and depressed all at once, but never will I understand how it can drive someone to hurt others.

R.I.P. Rick

Recently a great fan and person passed away, Griz Grunt who was a member of PSFF left us around 7 weeks ago. Rick was the one that created our logo at the fan forum.

Here is a message from Rick's wife,

Thank you and the folks at anygivensaturday.com (& eGriz.com) for your kind words. Near the end Rick's only wish was that he might have the ability to contact old friends and family and thank them for the good times and memories they had shared. So, rather than a donation, I know Rick would like it if each of us would call or communicate to those people that we just haven't had the time to contact and tell them how much we've appreciated them being a part of our lives, as well as, give your wife/husband/kid(s)/mom/dad/friends a hug and tell them how much they're loved and appreciated. Again, thank you and everyone at anygivensaturday.com (& eGriz.com) for your kind thoughts, Rick always found the site to be thoroughly entertaining and a reliable source for information. As for Rick's age, he was a 25 year old occupying a 57 year old body. After being kicked out of HS for attending anti-VietNam rallies, being drafted and working as a logger, he received degrees in Computer Science, Math and Electrical Engineering. He was an avid mtn biker/kayaker/nordic skier/MXer and last, but far from least, a Griz fan. Most importantly, he was a loving and much loved father and husband. These days most schools have fans that post pictures of their sporting events. There is a person that represents PSU, His name is Rob He graduated from college in 1998 San Francisco State Univ. Moved to Portland in 2005. He took a couple of photography classes at PSU and that got him interested in taking viking sports pics. After showing Mark Lund a couple of his photographs, he let him have sideline access to the games. Rob's pictures can be seen at the link below. Spring Football starts Monday

On Monday afternoon at 2:30 PM 2007 Viking Football will get underway with Spring Practice. More info on where the practice is located and how you can attend at Ian Ruders Blog. From noon to 2 tomorrow, coach Glanville will host a meet and greet at Macadam's Bar and Grill at 5833 SW Macadam Ave. The event is one of two scheduled spring opportunities to get up close and personal with the man in black.

Welcome Portland State Fans Forum Blog !

This is the Brand new Portland State Fans Forum Blog, Portland State Fans Forum is an unoffcial fan site for the Portland State fan base that was born on August 18th 2006 and is located at www.psufansforum.com , though most of the sites topics are about Portland State football and Portland State Basketball there are other categories for people to post in. From Other sports to just general discussion Portland State Fans forum is a great place to talk. Today or as of April 13th 2007 Portland State Fans Fo (which I will refer to as PSFF) has 366 members, so we already, months before our anniversary, have one member join a day.

The Admin that created the site is me(PSUVikings) my real name is Jeremy. The moderators of PSFF are martymoose, GreenDay17, GoViks, and Robs Pics. They keep the site under control.

The site also has a professional photographer who posts awesome Viking photos. I will have a seperate blog post with more detail later.

I will give more updates and other news about other parts of the site later.
